《why or why not》为2006年4月经游戏改编的动画寒蝉鸣泣之时第一季的片尾曲。
片雾烈火，日本女性创作歌手。从高中入学起开始独立创作的活动，进行同人音乐、网路声优、电脑游戏音乐的主唱,作词,作曲,企划,声优等的活动。
2002年电脑游戏「神无之鸟」的主题曲为第一首商业作品。2004年以专辑「みんのうた。」正式出道。2006年以动画「寒蝉鸣泣之时」的片尾曲《why or why not》作为动画歌手的出道作。
